David Wilburn Parton, the older brother of country music icon Dolly Parton, passed away peacefully at his home in White Pine, Tennessee, at the age of 82. His sister Stella Parton shared the news with a heartfelt tribute, thanking fans for their love and support.
Born into the large Parton family, David was one of 12 children raised in rural Tennessee. Unlike his famous siblings, he lived a private life, working for many years as a bridge-building superintendent and helping construct major infrastructure across East Tennessee.
David is survived by his wife, Kay, his daughters Donna and Dena, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several siblings, including Dolly and Stella. A memorial service was held in White Pine, followed by his burial at Dandridge Memorial Gardens. Though he stayed out of the spotlight, David is remembered for his dedication to his family, his community, and the lasting impact of his work.
