At 90, Dame Julie Andrews made a rare video appearance to support the seventh World Parkinson Congress.<\/p>\n

Seated casually in a white armchair, the Mary Poppins<\/em> and Sound of Music<\/em> legend welcomed attendees and spoke about the devastating impact of Parkinson\u2019s disease.<\/p>\n

\u201cMay we all become a beacon of light to stop it in its tracks,\u201d she said, showing her support for the Congress\u2019 Red Thread Project.<\/p>\n

Despite keeping a lower profile in recent years, Andrews remains active. She continues to voice Lady Whistledown in Bridgerton<\/em> and is also preparing to release a new children\u2019s book, Shy<\/em>, co-written with her daughter Emma Walton Hamilton.<\/p>\n
